Currently, Vanir Energy is the Southeast leader in Solar Thermal heating and cooling having the distinction of designing, building, owning and operating the largest solar thermal production facility in the world. Vanir’s business model may be described as a distributed energy model as a “Renewable Energy Service Company” or “RESCO”. Vanir Energy is the only company with proprietary technology capable of producing solar thermal cooling through the use of adsorption chillers. Adsorption chillers are far more efficient than their absorption counterparts and do not contain lithium bromide. Instead, the adsorption chillers use a silica-gel which can easily adsorb water without causing a structural change or volume expansion, are safe, as well as non-toxic. These adsorption chillers combined with solar thermal panels and air rotation units make this technology very cost effective and energy efficient.
